In the School of the Holy Spirit...

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is....freedom! 2 Cor 3:17

We praise God for anointing Maria Vadia powerfully to release His kingdom here on earth.

 We are God's co-workers. 2 Cor 6:1

God can do everything but He calls us to co-labour with Him. God is satisfied with our ‘yes’ and He will give us everything we need to carry out our mission. (Maria)

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.1 Cor 2:4-5

Everywhere that we go, we touch people with the power of God.
The gospel has to break through walls of church into the world.

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12

The world needs to see a child of God move in the power of the Holy Spirit. - Maria Vadia

This whole week of Spiritual Warfare and Intercession I was so doubtful of everything; a true doubting Thomas. But Friday March 18th, I sat down during Praise and Worship and said, “God, if this is real, take my doubts, and give me a reason to believe!” Later on I was chosen to be prophesied over, “great” I thought. The prophecy was: “I see a person on a grassy hill. This person is holding a guitar and singing, leading worship for people.” I was dumbfounded… just the night before I told God I enjoyed the guitar and I would love to lead worship for Him, and if it was His will then He would have to tell me… He certainly did. Praise God! (Kyle)

Maria, thank you for repeating and repeating the importance of worship. I promise to repeat the same in Europe at least twice as much as I needed for myself to understand. Pavel

We are not here by accident. There is a plan and purpose for our lives.

Ministry is the overflow of having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our first call is to abide in Him, so we can be friends with Him, and He can share with us what He wants. The Spirit makes all this possible.

Faith involves taking a risk. It involves coming out of our comfort zone, and entering what He has in store for us here on earth.

However, as it is written:
   “What no eye has seen,
   what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—
these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
1 Cor 2:9-10

God you have awesome things in store for me!
They are so big, they haven’t even entered my mind.
Help me to walk by faith and not by sight, into these things!

In our Father's house...

...the window of grace is always open for us to come back to the Father!

Your ways are not my ways Lord, but they are all good!
we get to spend quality time with one another...sharing lives, faith and....food!

we get soaked in truth!
2 Timothy 2:13 – Even when we were too weak to have any faith left, He remains faithful to us and will help us, for He cannot disown us who are part of Himself, and He will always carry out His promises to us.

Can I surrender everything to God who is my father?

we have big brothers who are passionate about the things that God the Father is passionate about. Thank you big brother Wimpie for your big heart!

in our Father's house, we learn to serve as He serves..

we learn to give our best...
we learn to handle His produce creatively...
we learn that work is not all sweat and no play ;-)
Flexed muscles versus Flax...guess who won?

This week we are all about uprooting sin and appropriating the power of the Cross.

Lights! School of Mission 2011 Is On!

You are the light of the world!

Live to give God glory!

This is the theme of School of Mission 2011 happening here at St Gerard's.

The Archbishop reminded us in his homily that it is not how much we know but who we are that truly matter.  To love God and our neighbour - that is the goal of everything that we seek to do.

we are excited to see what the transforming power of God's light and love will do for each of these unique lights, chosen and crafted in His hands.

School of Mission 2011 Begins 13 February, Sunday!

Join us in prayer as we prepare to welcome our 15 participants to the School of Mission here at St Gerard's Monastery in Wellington. This year's participants come from Germany, Czech Republic, USA, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.

The School begins on Sunday, 13 February with the Opening Mass celebrated by our Archbishop John Dew.

Part of the 'rituals' of preparation for the School is the cleaning and setting up of rooms.

Though these rituals are the same, we welcome new faces in our community. It is a huge blessing to have Valerie, Albert, Christine, Susan and Helena in our midst and we look forward to Susilo joining us very soon as well.
These folks were participants in last year's School and this year they will experience the School in a very different capacity, one in which we hope they experience deeper growth in faith, confidence and ministry. \o/

Give Hope Project...Celebrating Emmanuel, God with us!

God took our 5 loaves and 2 fish to bless the multitudes, well, 20 families with 80 children to be exact. ;-)
through the generosity of our friends and the Sunday mass congregation, we were able to put together gift hampers to bless 20 families in NaeNae. We also invited people to 'adopt a child' to pray and buy a Christmas present for. it was heartening to witness the warm and enthusiastic response of so many people, especially children who wanted to buy gifts for other kids!
We were so glad to be able to bless these 80 children with something special for Christmas. it was priceless to see their faces light up with delight as they received their presents. Thank you "big brothers and sisters" for your thoughtful gifts.
what we appreciated most was that we could visit these families and spend some time with them, singing carols, talking and praying with them.....

together with this family, we praised God for providing safe passage for 2 of their family members to come to New Zealand to start a new life! listening to the unshakeable faith of a mother, one could not help but be encouraged to keep trusting in God! \o/

we were treated to superb Ugandan hospitality by our gracious hosts. unfamiliar with this ritual, we were at first taken aback (we were like Peter when first faced with Jesus wanting to wash his feet!) but as we let ourselves be served, we allowed our hosts to extend to us a simple but dignified form of hospitality. it was such an honour for us.
